Supervision Team Changes: Must be submitted by the end of the 3rd year.
Thesis Title Changes: Must be made in a timely manner before your thesis is submitted.
To request a change (FCUP Procedure) to your thesis title or supervision team, you must send an email to the Department of Biology at dbio.sec@fc.up.pt following these instructions:
Email Subject Line: Use a clear format, such as: Request for Thesis Title/Supervision Team Change – BIODIV - [Your Name]
Your Request Document: Attach a dated and signed letter containing your full name, student number, and a clear description of the requested change.
For Thesis Title changes: Clearly specify the old vs. the new title.
For Supervision Team changes: Detail the exact updates (addition, substitution, or removal) and provide a clear justification for the change. Please note that the supervision team can have a maximum of 3 members.
A statement from your current supervision team confirming their agreement to the change. If adding a new supervisor, include a statement from them agreeing to the role, alongside a statement from the existing team confirming their inclusion.
Important:
Procedures may change. We strongly advise you to confirm how to proceed directly with the FCUP Post-Graduation office (pos.graduacao@fc.up.pt) before formalizing your request.
Please note that changing your thesis registration at FCUP is completely independent of any changes associated with your PhD funding/fellowship.
It is the student's sole responsibility to ensure compliance with these deadlines.
